PEPNet came from effective initiatives in the field, augmented with information from research, educational reform efforts and the "quality movement." Since 1996, over 225 initiatives have completed the PEPNet Application for Recognition and undergone the rigorous PEPNet review process, with only 69 recognized as PEPNet Awardees.
